The municipality shares boundary with Gadhi Rural Municipality in the east, Bhokraha Narsing Rural Municipaltiy, North: Ramdhuni Municipality and Itahari Sub-metro Municipaluty and West: Harinagara Rural Municipality
Out of the total population in the municiplaity 45% speak Maithili whereas only 24% speak Nepali and 11.97% speak Urdu. Similarly 14.84% of population are Muslims and 11.96% are Brahman Hill.
