Geographically, Mechinagar Municipality is in the eastern Terai region of Nepal. I Most part of town lies in a proper plain land. It is a border town located in Jhapa district of Province 1. It was established in 2052 BS. It is bordered to India in east, Birtamod Municipality and Arjundhara Municipality in the west, Buddha Shanti and Rong Rural Municipality in north and Bhadrapur Municipality in the South.
