Geographically, Sundarharaicha Municipality is in the Terai region of Nepal. The municipality is located in Morang district of Province 1. It was established in 2073 BS. It is surrounded by Belbari Municipality in the east, Sunsari District in west, Kerabari Rural Municipality in north and Gramtham and Budhi Ganda Rural Municipality in the South. The most important tourist area in this Municipality are Hasina and Baghjhoda Wetlands, Kichamgadhi etc. 20 percent of the municipality area is covered by forest.
