Geographically, Triyuga Municipality is in the Hill, Inner Terai (Bhitri Madhesh) and Chure region of Nepal. Triyuga Municipality is also the district headquarter of Udaypur district of Province 1. It was established in 2073 BS. Triyuga Municipality with Jalpachilaune, Khabu, Saune and Jogidaha VDC’s were merged to form greater Triyuga Municipality. The municipality is surrounded by Chaudandi Municipality in the east, Udaypurgadhi Municipality in the west, Rautamai Rural municipality of Khotang District in the north and Saptari District in the south.
