Geographically, Urlabari Municipality is in the Terai region of Nepal. It’s elevation is approximately 116 – 164m from the sea level. Most part of town lies in a proper plain land. Urlabari is a beautiful municipality. It was established in 2073 BS merging Rajghat and few wards of Madhumalla VDC’s with the then Urlabari municipality. The municipality is located in Morang district of Province 1. It is surrounded by Damak Municipality of Jhapa district in the east, Pathari Sanischare and Letang Municipality in the west, Miklajung Rural Municipality in north and Ratuwamai Municipality in the South. The most important tourist area in this Municipality are Betini and Lampate Wetlands, Budha Thakur etc.
